Western Alaska is known for its harsh weather and tough living conditions.  Ask a local, though, and they'll tell you Alaska's weather is not its harshest foe.

Western Alaska has the 2nd highest suicide rate in the United States.  In addition, children and youth are often the victims of domestic abuse, alcoholism, and drug addiction. Tragic deaths of friends and family members are a regular occurrence.

Camp HOPE is a faith-based camp dedicated to making a difference in the lives of youth across the Yukon-Kuskokwim River Delta area.  Our goal is to provide Alaskan youth with an opportunity to encounter Jesus while learning culturally relevant skills.  We hope the impact of the love of Christ, along with skills that support the rural Alaskan lifestyle, will give each student a hope they have never experienced before.

Over the past ten years, youth from villages around the Delta have been impacted with the gospel.  As these youth have returned to their homes, they have carried a new hope, a stronger cultural identity, and a foundation of Christ, with whom all things are possible.  High school dropouts have returned to school and graduated.  Teens contemplating suicide have changed their minds and chosen life!
